Milltown to Moors

Milltown to Moors is the new name for the Oldham Half Marathon which was run on Sunday 21st October. Sam Bolton and Andy Lang from Meltham AC ran with a field of 300 over a challenging hilly course. The weather on the day was perfect for running with stunning autumn scenery on a bright sunny morning.

The race was well marshalled with over 100 marshalls on the course and race photos were provided via the races facebook page.

Autumn Marathons

Two of our members have been involved in Marathons in the last two weeks. Firstly Emma Stienne competed in her first Marathon at Chester on 7th of October and clocked an impressive 4:10:18 time.

Secondly Mark Cope competed in the Liverpool Marathon on 14th of October and ran a personal best time of 3:48:08.

Well done both hope you can beat those times on your next Marathon. What do you mean never again?

Coniston Trail Race

On 6th of October 2012 four members of Meltham AC competed in the Coniston Trail Race, the second part of the popular Lakeland Trails Autumn series. Nick Thompson, Steve Perren, John Gray and Andy Lang ran the 15K challenge course, which started with a climb up past the YHA to Low Water Beck then followed mine paths to Torver village. From Torver the race came down to the lakeside for a fast lakeside finish.
